An experienced mediator and arbitrator of commercial and construction disputes
Jeremy Vermilyea is an experienced mediator and arbitrator of commercial and construction disputes including construction defect, traditional construction scope, schedule and payment disputes, and other commercial disputes such as shareholder, securities and broker practice disputes, business divorces, breach of contract, and similar issues. He has also mediated anti-trust and bid rigging matters and labor and employment disputes. He serves on the commercial and construction panels of the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and arbitrates securities disputes via the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) arbitration panel. He serves on the Oregon State Bar’s ADR Section Executive Committee and is the co-author of “ADR in Construction Disputes”, a chapter in the OSB’s ADR in Oregon Deskbook, 2019 ed.
In addition to his experience as a neutral, Jeremy has 25 years’ litigation experience and brings decades’ worth of “in the trenches” litigation experience to his approach as a neutral. Jeremy was raised in Alaska and lived there until relocating to the Pacific Northwest in 2000. He received his Bachelor’s degree in 1992 from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and his J.D., cum laude, in 1996 from Vermont Law School.
